DSCR / 802.11P / V2X
DSRC (Direct Short Range Communication) is a technology that is based on the IEEE 802.11p standard. On the application side SAE, Car-2-Car Communication Consortium and IEEE standards are also used. DSRC is a system in which information is shared between vehicles (V2V) and between vehicles and infrastructure (V2I). It is primarily known for its use in tolling and connected car applications. Legislation in the USA and Europe permits the use of DSRC technology in ITS (Intelligent Transport System) vehicles and infrastructure. Devices operating according to the DSRC standard are tested and certified at OmniAir-authorised labs.
